<image:title>News & Events - What is a Beaver Deceiver? - Make it stand out</image:title>
<image:caption>BEFORE: That's a Big Damn Dam! Note that the water level near the bike is creeping onto the rail trail. This alerts the NH Bureau of Trails, and they hire trappers to "remove" the beavers. This action triggered the xNHAT to run in with the offer of a Beaver Deceiver. The NH Bureau of Trails cancelled the trappers, the Beaver Deceiver was installed and the beavers are now happily working in their pond and are not currently hats.</image:caption>
</image:image>

<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/696e2fc1a6ef56224e803a16/7f4fe6dc-50a1-4712-8155-ee54f367ab57/img-7674_orig.jpg</image:loc>
<image:title>News & Events - What is a Beaver Deceiver? - Make it stand out</image:title>
<image:caption>DURING: Here is the equipment utilized to construct a Beaver Deceiver. Most of this is located underwater where you cannot see it. The height of the pipe outlet end regulates the water level of the pond, NOT the beavers and their dam. The cost for this Beaver Deceiver and installation was $2500, should be a good investment for a long lasting solution.</image:caption>

<image:title>News & Events - What is a Beaver Deceiver? - Make it stand out</image:title>
<image:caption>AFTER: The water level is regulated so that the trail is dry, the pond is full but not overflowing, the beavers are happy, the wetland is preserved, the Bureau of Trails saves money and the xNHAT has made a good investment with donation money!</image:caption>

Don is an expert sculptor with a bulldozer, he will grade this new surface to a smooth, solid, weather and use resistant surface that can be enjoyed by everyone. The ledgepack is from Mark Champagne's quarry on Mt. Eustis Road in Littleton.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Here is the NH Bureau of Trails team that finished the last 500 feet of surfacing between the 2 trestle bridges. They brought in small dump trucks from their offices in each corner of the state to finish the job. The contractor's BIG dump trucks delivering the ledgepack were too heavy to travel the decking on the bridges, so this team did the job! FINISHED, October 21, 2025.</image:caption>
